Annual Meeting

PSRG's annual membership meeting is usually held in January.

The 2007 meeting was held Sunday, January 21, 2007 at the Shoreline Historical Museum, 2:00pm. No synopsis is available.

The 2006 meeting was held on Sunday, January 15, 2006, at 2:00pm, at the Shoreline Historical Museum.

At this meeting we usually have a guest speaker, elect officers of the organization and give away door prizes, as well as providing a time for the membership to get together and chat in person. The Annual Meeting is also a good way to renew your membership -- by signing the sign-in form. (See the membership page for more information.)

Meetings in the past have been at the Shoreline Historical Museum at 749 N 175th St, just west on 175th from Aurora (Highway 99).

A brief synopsis of the 2006 Annual Meeting:

There were 3 offices up for the vote, but we wound up electing 5. Of the officers going into the meeting, our President, Dan Lingafelter (KB7TTC), and Secretary/Treasurer, Kitty Lingafelter (KD7FAS), have stepped down, and Board Slot 2 was up for re-election. The reason for 5 elections was that 2 of the other board members vacated their positions for higher ones.

Your new board consists of:
President: Will McCafferty (KD7WHQ) - vacating the office of Vice-President
Vice-President: Rusti Kelley (WA7KAT) - vacating Board Slot 3 to fill the remainder of Will's unexpired term (1 year).
Secretary/Treasurer: Dawn Humphrey (KC7YYB)
Board Slot 1: Tim Schneebeck (K7QMI)
Board Slot 2: Bob Gudgel (K7IQ)
Board Slot 3: Tom Croteau (WA9ZSK) - to fill the remainder of Rusti's unexpired term (1 year).
License Trustee: Bruce Miller (KC7IAY) - this is an appointed slot.

There was some discussion of the technical status and plans for the repeater itself. It was voted that there be 4 committees of about 3 people each compiled - one for the choosing of a new main site for the repeater, as we have to move it by January 1, 2007; one to re-work the Constitution and By-Laws; one to re-work the rest of the Welcome Packet; and one to work on bringing in new members and improving the interest of the existing members. Of these 4 committees, we still need 1 volunteer for the By-Law committee, 3 for the Welcome Packet committee, and 2 for the Membership committee. The committee for the new main site is already full.

It was also brought up that at the meeting last year, it was thought a newsletter would be a good idea. Unfortunately, our webmaster hasn't the first clue where to start on that one. A knowledgeable volunteer for the newsletter would be greatly appreciated. This does not have to be a monthly thing - likely either quarterly or semi-annually would be best at this time. Whoever volunteers for this would be working directly with the webmaster, Rusti, and would be able to draft the newsletters in almost any format they choose, as I have most of the most popular programs for that kind of thing. If interested, please email Rusti.

After the actual meeting, we had a very interesting presentation. This year our speaker was Richard Green (KR7L), who is a member of the Western Washington Medical Services Team and spent a month in the Hurricane Disaster Zone during the relief effort. He showed some pictures, etc. and described his experiences while down there. As it turns out, the Hams did not only do radio work, but also helped pass out food, knock on doors, etc. It sounded like the only big drawback in Richard's mind was that it was so far away. Part of his presentation is shown in the pictures posted here.

Photographers for the pictures taken are: Rusti Kelley (WA7KAT), Will McCafferty (KD7WHQ), Bob Donnell (KD7NM), and Cliff Wells (KA7TVC).
